Evaluation of Anxiety and Experience of patients presented with Maxillofacial Trauma in Nishtar Institute of Dentistry

Aim: To evaluate the anxiety in patients of maxillofacial trauma using HAM-A scale presenting emergency department and compare it with elective surgery Study design: Analytical cross sectional study. Place duration study: was conducted from May 2021 to Apr 2022 at Dental unit Nishtar Institute Dentistry. Methodology: 80 who met inclusion criteria were included. Inclusion any patient aged between 12-80 years irrespective gender got isolated facial trauma, no previous history psychological disorder. Hamilton used make a proforma which filled by on duty post graduate trainee. p-value ≤0.05 significant. Results: There 61 males (76.2%) 19(23.8%) females. Mean age group A (facial trauma) 40.5±15.20 B (elective surgery) 50.2±10.47 years. score 25.15±9.74 (moderate severe anxiety) 12.12±4.44 (mild statistically (p value 0.00). Conclusion: Maxillofacial injuries may pose heavy impact lives suffer depression. multidisciplinary team approach surgeon psychiatrist be included reduce physical damage patients.
